I grew up in Sevier County, Tennessee, and graduated from Sevier County High School. It is a privilege and blessing to teach in the community I call home.
As the sixth-grade English Language Arts teacher, I am dedicated to creating a supportive, culturally responsive classroom. I believe that learning begins with strong relationships and that every decision in the classroom should put students first. Drawing from my experience teaching science and history, I help students become stronger interdisciplinary readers, writers, and critical thinkers while nurturing a lasting appreciation for literature. I am committed to lifelong learning and model this with my students daily. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing poetry, studying history, traveling, and exploring the Great Smoky Mountains.
I look forward to partnering with students and families to make sixth grade a meaningful and successful year.
