Hello! My name is Rylie Werner, and I am honored to serve as the Literacy Coach at Pi Beta Phi Elementary. It is a privilege to support the incredible students, teachers, and families who make this school community so special.
My journey in education began with a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Audiology from the University of Tennessee. While in college, I discovered my passion for teaching through substitute teaching, where I found joy in helping students grow as learners. My background in speech and language provided a strong foundation for supporting literacy and communication development.
I later earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from Carson-Newman University and began my career as an ESL teacher at Sevierville Intermediate School. In 2023, I joined the Pi Beta Phi Elementary family and began pursuing my Educational Specialist degree at Lincoln Memorial University.
In early 2024, I became a mother to my son, whose unexpected arrival at 29 weeks led our family through a NICU journey that strengthened my empathy, resilience, and appreciation for the power of community. Those experiences continue to shape the way I approach both my personal life and my work with educators and students.
As Literacy Coach, I have the opportunity to partner with teachers to strengthen literacy instruction, support student achievement, and foster engaging, inclusive learning environments where every learner can thrive. I am passionate about supporting educators, promoting high-quality instruction, and helping create meaningful learning experiences that empower every student to succeed.
One of the things I love most about Pi Beta Phi Elementary is the heart that fills every hallway. We encourage one another, celebrate growth, and work together to help every child reach their full potential. I am grateful to be part of this amazing school community and look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and serve alongside our dedicated staff and families.
