Hi, my name is Sandy
Snyder and I teach kindergarten and first grade. I have been teaching
at Pi Beta Phi for thirty years. I continue to enjoy the little
ones-they make my day! I have been married to my husband Ken Snyder for
thirty one years. We have two sons Solon and Chase. I just became a
grandmother this past September to my grandaughter "Allie Grace." You
can imagine where I spend my spare time. I adore animals and dearly
love my two little yorkies. I am a nature lover and enjoy the outdoors.
In warm weather you can find me working in my garden, walking my dogs
or reading while relaxing in my hamock. My family is the most precious
part of my life. We spend a lot of time creating loving memories.

I was born and
raised in Melbourne, Florida. I lived near the ocean and
grew up loving the water and all the sports and activities related to
the ocean. This is where I developed my true love of nature. I later
moved to Maryville Tennessee, where I attended Maryville College. I
received a B.A. in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in grades
1-9. I later attended the University of Tennessee where I received my
endorsement in grades K-3. After college I taught Environmental
Education at Tremont in the Great Smoky Mountains. I also conductued a
Wilderness Program in which I led secondary grade children on three and
four day camping trips in the Smoky Mountains. I taught pre-school
children in Maryville before starting my Kindergarten position here at
Pi Phi.
Meet Ms. Denise
Hello first grade parents and students. My name is
Ms. Denise. I have been an assistant at Pi Beta Phi for 17
years. I started out with Kindergarten. I absolutely adore
working with children. I love their honesty among many other
attributes. I have a husband and two grown daughters that are the
lights of my life. Thanks for letting me enjoy and be a part of
your child's learning.
