I was born and
raised in the beautiful state of Idaho. I moved to Nevada after
college and taught my first three years in Nevada. We moved to
Gatlinburg 15 years ago and I have been at Pi Beta Phi the whole 15
years.
I
have a wonderful husband, Russ. We have been married 28
years. I have 3 wonderful children. Drew is 23 and lives in
Knoxville. He is training to be a pilot. Kayleigh is a
junior at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School. Lexi is a seventh
grader here at Pi Beta Phi.
I
enjoy
church
activities,
writing,
reading,
shopping, and walking. I
love playing with my dog, Haus. He is a German Rottie.
I
have
18
years
teaching
experience.
I earned my B.S. in elementary
education at Idaho State University and graduated with honors. I
earned my M.S. in curriculum and instruction at Tusculum College and
graduated
with High Honors. I earned my ED.S at Lincoln Memorial University
in administration and supervision and graduated with high honors.

grow academically and socially.

Meet Ms.
Yalonda
My name is Ms. Yalonda Thompson.
I have been working here at Pi Beta Phi since 2006. I love
working with children. My husband Peter and I share two beautiful
daughters-Ana Lee and Georgia. They are the light of
my life. I received my Associate degree in Elementary Education
from Finger Lakes Community College in Rochester NY. I have
worked with students with special needs and Kindergarten for over five
years. We love the mountains and outdoor life here in
Gatlinburg and are so happy to be living in the wonderful state
of Tennessee.
