Welcome to the Pi Beta Phi Elementary School's music site.  Within the music program students are exposed to many different types of music from all over the world and throughout history.   They are also taught notation as well as the five elements (tone color, melody, rhythm, harmony and form) that are needed  for music to exist.

 
    My name is Michael Hicks and I have been teaching music for 30 years.  Music is my passion, and I hope each student that enters my classroom learns to love music because it has helped create the many different cultures in our world today.  Music is “the universal language”.
